Steals and Deals at Neiman Marcus

Turquoise Skirt Suit, $93.75

Turquoise Skirt Suit, $93.75

It’s getting to be that time of year, pr0n stars: where the temperatures are high and the prices are low.  It’s the time of year where you can find incredible deals even at stores like Neiman Marcus, that might otherwise be off your radar.

There were so many great finds that I had hard time whittling them down for you.  Let’s not waste any more time.

.

Have you ever found a bargain so good that you almost wonder what’s wrong with it?  Don’t wonder, just BUY this stunner of a turquoise suit.

The jacket has a portrait collar and button front with long sleeves. It comes with a peplum pencil skirt, made in the USA.

Here’s the kicker: this entire suit is still available in sizes 6, 8, 10, & 14 (classic sizing).  The site will take another 25% off the current price when you get to checkout, bringing this $250 suit down to $93.75.

If you need summertime suits, don’t let this one slip!

Gray Leather Trapeze Jacket - $103.00

Gray Leather Trapeze Jacket - $103.00

.Sizes 16/18 I got your bargain right here, and it’s a gem.  How would you like a grey leather trapeze jacket?  Yeah?  How about for  $100?  Yes?  Good?  Okay – here you go.

Exclusive to NM, a gray leather trapeze jacket, size XL (16-18).  I adore the feminine details; check out the funnel collar, 3/4 length sleeves and gathers just above the bust.

The trapeze shape is going to make it super flattering and easy to wear.

You’re not going to pay $295, oh no.  Your price is only $103.00.  Get it NOW.  Bargains like this don’t come around very often.

Bettye Mueller Two-Tone Sandal, $195.75

Bettye Mueller Two-Tone Sandal, $195.75

Pardon me for oversharing, but I want to lick these shoes.  I’m a huge Bettye Muller fan; she makes shoes that are feminine, fun and a little funky – frequently with just a slightly retro feel.

Think of these two-tone sandals as an investment:  an investment in deliciousness. Two-tone patent leather open toe sandals come in either blue/purple or hot pink/orange, with a t-strap vamp, and 3″ stacked heel.

If you get open toe shoes, I beg of you not to wear closed toe hose with them.  You can even buy footless hose now!  Seeing covered toes peeking out from an open toe has got to be one of my fashion pet-peeves right behind Visible Panty Lines.  But I digress.

Lots of sizes (5-9) are still available in both colors.  Normally you’d pay $390 for the privilege of slipping these on, but take an extra 25% off the sale price at checkout for a final price of $195.75.

Artist Colony Tunic in Baked Apple, $35

Artist Colony Tunic in Baked Apple, $35

.Let’s go bargain basement.  Is $35 low enough for you?  Buy the Artist Colony cotton tunic and wear it Spring through Fall with jeans or underneath a suit, or even with a pair of bermuda shorts and sandals.

“Boho chic” is still super stylish and popular; the embroidery bib, gathered empire waist and slightly puffed sleeve give this shirt a bohemian vibe without looking messy or out of date.

Pictured here in “baked apple”, it’s also available in black and taffy (ivory), sizes 4-10 contemporary, which runs a little smaller than a “classic” fit.  A size guide is available on the web page.

An empire waist tunic is really flattering if you’ve got a little tummy to hide.   Empire waists stop at your smallest part, just under the bust, and then skim over what’s below.  Three-quarter length sleeves are a great way to also bring the eye up.

.

Juicy Couture Flower-Button Trench Coat, $194.25

Juicy Couture Flower-Button Trench Coat, $194.25

Would someone please buy Juicy Couture’s flower-button trench coat so I don’t?  *cries*

The hardest part of writing a shopping blog is that inevitably you find something you want to buy, and I want this coat.

Juicy’s clothing is always colorful and slightly girly.  How can you not fall for a poinsettia red short cotton trench with 3/4 length sleeves and gold-tone flower buttons?

Sizes petite (0) to XL (14) are still for the taking, but Juicy definitely sizes contemporary so check the size guide.  Save another 25% at checkout, for just over half price off $398 – final price $194.25.

taryn by Taryn Rose Driver Ballerina Flats, $98.25

taryn by Taryn Rose Driver Ballerina Flats, $98.25

.
If you’re like me, you love the look of little flats, but your feet hate them.  Enter taryn by Taryn Rose’s Driver Ballerina flats.

Is it a driving moc?  Is it a ballerina flat?  It’s both and it’s ergonomically designed to fit your feet.

You may care that Taryn Rose was an orthopedic surgeon before she was a shoe designer, or maybe that these oh so cute shoes come in blue and camel patent leather, were made in Italy with fantastic stitching detail.

You should care that instead of $195, they’ll cost you $98.25, and there’s still size 12 available in camel!  Someone tell me I don’t need the blue ones…

.
There’s lots more to see, like this Nanette Lepore Buzz sundress for $81, so don’t wait, and be sure to enter code NMSUMMER for free shipping.

I just saw that Saks is having a big clearance, so I’m off to see what’s there. That’s it for this edition of Shopping Pr0n, my little pr0n panecotta.

It was good for me; tell me, was it good for you?

Net-A-Porter Super Sale!

Thanks to my friend Grechen, over at Grechen’s Closet, I was tipped off that designer mecca site Net-A-Porter had taken another 20% off their sale prices.  Net-A-Porter definitely runs towards the true designer end of the scale, so even deeply discounted is going to cost you a few pennies.

Doma Stitched Leather Jacket, $242.50, Sz. L

Doma Stitched Leather Jacket, $242.50, Sz. L

But if you’re one of my readers who invests in this type of clothing, or waits for this type of sale to spend your money, there are deals to be had.  I’ve tried to pick out only the most worthwhile to show you.  FYI, all products are linked to via their pictures.

.

At just under half price (was $505), this Doma stitched leather jacket is still a steal.  You’re looking at a red leather collarless jacket with stitched detailing around the neckline.

The jacket has long sleeves, two zipped pockets, a zip athrough the front and is fully lined.  It’s available only in size Large, which is probably going to be around a U.S. 10.  It’s like buttah, and it’s going to be gone in a heartbeat.

.

Tibi Bow Collar Dress, $177.60, Sz. M,L

Tibi Bow Collar Dress, $177.60, Sz. M,L

Tibi is quickly popping up on my brand radar for their beautiful blouses and dresses in feminine fabrics, colors and styles.  This particular dress reminds me of Milly NYC, which has been a great diappointment to me Spring/Summer.

You all know what a fan I am of retro influenced styles, especially ’60s/mod looks.  This coral mini-dress is made in a heavy jersey with a large bow at the neckline, elbow length sleeves and a side zip.

Sizes medium and large, or about U.S. 8-10 can get this on sale for $177.60, down from $370.  Pictures, please!

.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Short Wool Coat, $264, Sz. S-L

Marc by Marc Jacobs Short Wool Coat, $264, Sz. S-L

Often you can get a good deal by buying off season.  If you’re good at delayed gratification, buying for next fall or winter is a great idea.

Think how cheery this coral Marc by Marc Jacobs short winter coat will make you when you walk through a sea of black and grey.   Everyone should have a longer formal winter coat, and a shorter casual one.

This was originally $550, but is on sale for $264, and is still available in sizes small, medium and large.  It’s 80% wool, 20% nylon with a back pleat and satin lining.

.

"Calisten", Cotton/Acrylic Grape Cardigan, $78.45, Sz. L

"Calisten", Cotton/Acrylic Grape Cardigan, $78.45, Sz. L

Since I don’t wear wool, I find it difficult to find really cozy, soft sweaters.  This grape colored cardigan by Malene Birger looks so soft and so comfortable for a size Large.

It’s a cotton/acrylic blend with a round neckline, long sleeves, white beaded buttons and front pockets to keep your well manicured fingers warm. :)

I particularly appreciate the edging at the cuffs and hem, which will help a good sweater keep its shape.  “Calisten” retailed for $245 and is now an incredible buy at only $78.40.

.

I have a confession: I think these Tory Burch Jelly Reva flats are adorable.  I know, I know.  I can’t help it; every fashionista has their weakness.

Tory Burch Jelly Reva Flats, $38, Sz. 8/8.5

Tory Burch Jelly Reva Flats, $38, Sz. 8/8.5

But listen: aside from cobalt blue, sunshine/schoolbus yellow is the color this season.  I snatched up a Dooney & Bourke handbag in the color on sale and I just adore it.  I get complimented on it all the time.

If you wear a size 8/8.5  shoe, these normally $98 flats are on sale for $38! You all are lucky I rarely wear flats, otherwise we’d have to throw down.

Sizing info says to go down half a size if you wear a half size, and they’re available in an 8.

.

Yesterday, I was reminded by my good friend Heidi (who writes a really thoughtful size acceptance blog) that a good handbag is an investment.  Especially if it’s not too trendy, it’s something that you’ll have and use for years.

Mulberry Large Soho Shoulder Bag, $278

Mulberry Large Soho Shoulder Bag, $278

That’s why I’m recommending this Mulberry Large Soho bag, for $278.  To start, you can’t get a good designer bag for $278 unless you’re very lucky.

This is a classic shape in a not-too-trendy color.  Be careful, as it may be a touch more orangey than it appears, depending on your monitor.

Soho has an adjustable shoulder strap, and silver hardware including a turnlock, which is a very safe closure.  The inside is lined in twill.

See here, and check out this picture for a sense of how big it is – it’s definitely roomie, and has a nice drop long enough to be worn on your shoulder.

Best of all – handbags have no size.  Anyone can wear them. :D  Last but not least, for more deals check out The Outnet, Net-a-Porter’s “bargain” little sister.

Thanks for reading, my little pr0n plums!

As always, it was good for me.  Tell me, was it good for you?

Hayden-Harnett Sale Pr0n

Hiya Pr0nsters – I got a hot tip in my email this morning that Hayden Harnett is having a saaaaaaaale! So I scurried over here to tell you all.  Get 20% off anything – even sales stuff and new stuff, just by using code LOVERLY (through 2/15).  Spend $100 and get their very special iTunes playlist.

For instance, with 20% off, this luscious fitted gray leather jacket with 3/4 length sleeves would no longer be $578, but a mere $461.80. And wouldn’t you just look scrumptious in it?

.

If you travel, do check out this Clarice Train Case; I’m showing it in Amber. It even has an attached interior mirror – no more fumbling for your compact!  Now if only it came with a light…

Front and back slit pockets, zip top with one of those little leather tabs, and the whole thing is stain guarded! Scoff in the face of  $278, and say hello to $222.40.

.

Your dear blogger insists on immediate gratification, but if you don’t, invest in this adorable clutch/carryall shipping in April.

Even if you don’t eat blueberries, you’ll love this case in blueberry (or one of the other colors), when your 20% off code lowers this piece from $64 to $51.20

.

With all the money you’ve just saved, go ahead and pick up this beautiful leather harness belt. I like it in saddle. Originally $130, on sale for $48, type in LOVERLY at checkout and you only pay $38.40. That’s almost $100 off!!!

.

Now I’ve never seen anything quite like this Staci Crossbodi handbag. Yes, handbag. I’m partial to the violet crinkle patent, but it also comes in platinum.

Is it a handbag? Is it a clutch? With it’s removable strap, you decide!

The strap will go as long as low hip, but the small string can be tied to make your own creation. (If you buy this, send me pictures!)

So it’s $258? With 20% off it’s only $206.40!

.

Those are my favorites pr0n darlings. Tell me what you like!

.

Until next time. It was good for me; tell me, was it good for you?

Sales Pr0n – Dying of the Flu Edition

Thanks for coming back my pr0n muffins.  I’m dying of the flu and wanted to make sure I showed you these sales before I did.  If I trail off mid-outfit, just administer apple juice.

I once read that everybody loves a parade; I’m not sure how they reached that conclusion.  Frankly I’d like to see their research methodology,

Originally $395, now $198

Originally $395, now $198

but my point being that everybody likes a sale.  Feel free to insert the comment of your choice about the recession here.  Kind of like those Choose Your Own Adventure Books I used to read.

Remember the Fourth Rule of Shopping Pr0n: Just because something is 75% off, does not mean you need it.  It’s very much related to the First Rule. Almost Rule 1a.  My father taught me to ask myself this before buying something: Where will I wear it? If you don’t know, no matter how fabulous it is, put it back.

Take for instance this butter yellow cropped leather motorcycle jacket from Domaleather.  Let’s look closely: slightly puffed shoulders, stitching detail at the neck and along the zipper, angled front pockets, 3/4 length sleeves with an elastic wrist, and a slim cropped fit.

RevolveClothing is selling this jacket in yellow (sizes M,L) and dark violet (which I might actually like more, size M only).  This piece of art was originally $481 and is now $241.

Half off leather. *cries*  Someone please buy this and send me a picture so I can pretend I’m you.

.

Now here’s something you will wear over and over and over:  From Thomas Pink‘s “Richard Nicholl’s Collection” is this “Ruth” women’s dress.

The image is crap, so click to see the full size one.  This really is classic design at its best.  Thomas Pink is top quality and style.

This is a 100% cotton shirt dress with trims on cuffs, pockets and hem, a  pleated bib (just what you’d think it would be), roll up sleeves, self fabric covered buttons and detachable fabric belt.  It looks gray, but it’s actually a black pinstripe.

These are UK sizes, but their handy dandy size chart will conveniently convert you. For future reference they go up to a U.S. size 18, but the highest this dress is in stock is a 16. Why? Well it was first selling for $500 (yes, that’s right) and it’s now $189. At better than half price, remember the Second Rule of Shopping Pr0n: Get it while it lasts.  Supplies are limited, first come, first served.

.

Now, almost all – if not all – of the shoes I’ve shown you here on the Pr0n (as I like to call it) have been heels.  Often very high heels.  (You know what they say: the higher the heel, the closer to God), but that’s really only because I haven’t found flats pr0nish enough to meet my standards for you, muffins!  I care!  Look at these and tell me they’re not the cutest things you’ve ever seen (go on – tell me.).

“Foxy Ballerina” from Marc by Marc Jacobs; once these beauties were $425, now they’re $213. And if you had $213, wouldn’t you spend it on these fuchsia (so hard to spell) or charcoal patent leather flats?

They’re actually a 1″ heel, which is better for your feet, and have a fox ear detail at the vamp with a square toe.  They’re available for your foxy pleasure at Bergdorf Goodman.

.

But really, really what makes my heart go pitter pat are a pair of drool inducing heels, like these at ShopBop.com.  Please ignore the idiotic caption on the website; what you need to know is that these are “Folded Ornament Wedges” from Leopoldo Giordano.  If I ever meet Leo, I’d like to hug him. That’s all.  Just a hug.

It goes down like this: 4″ patent leather wedges in Blue or Taupe (get the Blue), made in Italy. Marked down from $545, these shoes-of-a-lifetime can be yours for $163.50.

There’s a tab detail at the vamp, and if you look closely you can see a seam detail along the heel.  If you go to the website you can look at the shoe from all angles. *giggles*  (No, you don’t need to tell me I lack maturity.  I know.)

.

Really good fashion is all about details.  Details and quality.  Details, quality and fit.  Never mind – before this turns into the Spanish Inquisition, let’s look at this zip front skirt by Michen, which has all 3.

Take a beautiful wool/nylon/cashmere pencil skirt with a silk lining, add a waistband with a tortoise shell colored button, a bit of pleating just to kick it up a notch, and a zipper running on the diagonal, and you’ll have this skirt.

If you’re a size 4 or 6, head over to Tobi.com and plunk down your $150 for a half off skirt.  This beautiful skirt is made in the U.S.A. used to be $301.

.

.

One of the things I love, especially on bigger women, is a beautiful, large print in a bold color.   Apparently the stylists at American Idol agreed, because they used this Diva Halter in red from Missphit.

.Admittedly, I find the clothing at Missphit hit or miss, but their hits are bullseyes, and so are their prices. This was originally $45, and it’s now $32.

This chiffon high neck halterneck actually has a full front and back lining so your not showing anything you don’t intend to (*cough*) and a smocked bottom band. It’s sized (and available) 1x-3x, which Missphit says is about a 14w to 24W.  Can’t miss.

.

.There’s another saying (Yes, another saying. Deal.): into every man’s life a little cashmere must fall.  That’s right isn’t it? If you or someone you know needs a little cashmere to fall into his life, head on over to Bluefly.com.

If you’re a small or an extra-large, you’re in luck!  Imagine slipping into this charcoal/silver/blue basketweave v-neck sweater by ADAM.

Original price: $375, the actual retail price of your showcase sweater is $179.99 for a small, $109.99 for an XL (No clue, don’t ask.)

.

.

My friend and reader, Rachel, turned me on to LunaBoston.com, which is filled to the brim with different brands of handbags, shoes and accessories.  Bright color is everywhere for spring, and it’s all over Lorelai’s “Madison” tote.

Madison comes in green only, with a bright pink fabric lining.  Black and yellow sold out, and green is apparently available only in very limited quantities so don’t hesitate if you love this bag (Damn. I really should be on QVC.)

.

.Men should not be afraid of a little color either.  Take for instance this 1960s blazer from Juicy Couture. Now, can we all agree that this is in fact a nice blazer, and not over the top? Thank you. It’s just that my friend Deka over at That’s Hideous, found these truly atrocious Juicy ski goggles., and felt the need to denigrate Juicy. *snif*. So I felt the need to show her some very subdued Juicy.

I’d be happy to go on a date with any man wearing this blazer.  It’s nice, it’s purple and I like purple, it’s stylish and proves he put some thought into his outfit, and it’s Juicy!  Someone I’m on a date with wearing Juicy? Bonus!  Either he dresses well or knows how to find someone who does, which is equally valid.

Anyway, they’re calling this burgundy, and cotton.  It looks like corduroy to me, but it could just be a nubby cotton (yeah, i know corduroy is cotton).  It once was $218, and it’s now $163.

.

Before we wrap up, you must see this organic cotton and bamboo “Alison” dress from Sublet.

One thing you should know about your blogger is that she has ridiculously sensitive skin.  I wear very little wool, no angora or lambswool (which I guess is a type of wool).  Your dear blogger only wears cotton, silk, cashmere, or soft synthetics.  So I’m adoring all the new clothing that’s coming out in organic cotton and bamboo. Bamboo!  Who knew?

This dress is just sexy as all get out.  It does have a deep v-neck, so if you can’t wear stick-on boobies or similar, put a silk or cotton cami underneath.  This is beautiful detailing that is great to expose an upper body and camouflage what’s going on below the waist.

Oh – the site I found it at is The Green Loop.com.  They were selling the dress for $242, and it’s now $121 in black.  Made in the U.S.A.

.

It wouldn’t be pr0n without lingerie (plus it gets me site hits).  I searched high and low for some lovely cotton lingerie on sale, but it was not to be found.  So we’ll skip the sale and go for the comfy and sexy  from sheandme.com .

How yummy are these boyshorts that are solid in the front and pattern in the back, with a little lace trim?  The solid comes in pomegranete, ivory, mocha, navy, chocolate and sienna. 94% modal, 6% spandex, made in the U.S.A $30

Happy bargain hunting, my little pr0nistas!

As always, it was good for me; tell me: was it good for you?

Next time on ShoppingPr0n (if I survive the flu): More Pr0n Plus – Only the best plus sized pr0n.

Clearance Pr0n – Part 2

Hi there, Pr0nos – thanks for coming! Today’s post is another clearance pr0n post! I’m busy gathering links for this week’s Plump Pr0n (? Got a better name? Help!), but in the meantime there are so many delicious deals out there that my bookmarks are virtually bulging at the seams.

I want to start with a rarity: a men’s site I found that’s in both the U.S. and the U.K. Topman.com has such ridiculous sales right now, I could probably show you everything, but I only bring you the pr0niest fashion. Unfortunately everything that I want to show you is out of stock. :( ( I know, I know – that was all wind up and hardly any release). But I will show you these adorable Moped cuff-links.

I mean really! So you can’t afford a Vespa ? You can afford Moped cuff-links! You little hipster you.

.

.

Next, via StyleC*nt , is this really interesting UK clothing shop, All Saints. If I’m not mistaken, some of what they feature would be what the kiddies these days are calling Steampunk. What I call this leather High Flyer Jacket is OMGLOVE.  Like buttah. First, I can just tell from the picture how soft that leather is going to be.  Second, I love the color – taupe maybe?

Finally, what I love most is the styling – they’ve taken a basic motorcycle jacket and changed it up with two extra zippers on either side of the real one. Details like that are what make a piece of clothing pr0n. It was £250 (US $356 more or less), is now £150 (US$213 more or less). Not bad at all for a deelish leather jacket (if you’re a size small.)

.
Their women’s clothes are equally pr0n worthy, starting with the “Rogue Dress”
This is a style of dress you would expect to see at a much higher price point by “big name” designers.  What you should look at in particular is the seaming at the skirt – the way it darts in, and then creates almost a corset effect in the bodice.  The bottom is a lightweight cotton, and then the top – which is almost Grecian the way it’s draped- is silk. Don’t forget that these are UK sizes, pr0nistas – US sizes are about one below, and this is a slim fit.  This dress was £90 (about US$128) – a steal at full price; it’s now £54 (about US$77).  This neutrally color palette is good on so many skin tones; I’m just gaga over it.

.

.
Going in a completely different direction is this mustard colored “Tobacco” dress from Elsa.  Your blogger must confess that she has a soft spot for vintagey/mod clothing, and this dress has me saying “Pass the Grey Poupon!

A round halter neck attaches to a shift darted in the bust, with a seam at the natural waist and two front pocket flaps.  What it doesn’t say is how long the dress is, but throw a cardigan, some chunky “pearls”, colored tights and chunky heeled pumps and you’re set for any occasion.

Originally $350, its reduced to $175 on final sale at ChickDowntown.com .

.

.
Now – this dress needs a fabulous handbag, and if you’re the kind of pr0n lover who can keep a white handbag white for more than the length of time it takes to get it out of the box (So not me.) Feast your pr0n loving eyes on this Tabitha in White handbag from Shoptwigs.com.

This is a classic “bowling” bag shape – I’ve had to shrink the picture significantly for the post, so do check it out in all it’s full sized glory. This is what makes a designer handbag a designer handbag: solid hardware (including bottom feet), serious quality stitching, a silk interior lining and I can only imagine a full-grain leather (as opposed to just the “top” grain).

Now remember the two rules of Shopping Pr0n:The first rule of Shopping Pr0n is you do not talk about Shopping Pron half off Gucci is still a month’s rent. The second rule of Shopping Pr0n is get it while it lasts…first come, first served, supplies are limited.  Keeping that in mind, this pr0nish bag was originally $996 – it’s on sale for $398! In case you can’t divide, that’s better than half price!!

.

.
Moving on, while your blogger understands that her male readers like to be “comfortable”, she lacks sympathy. Have you seen the shoes we women wear ? For that reason, I bypassed “casual” shoes or “upscale sneakers” and went straight for the russell leather “Chelsea” boots by Cole Haan.

If anyone knows leather – Cole Haan knows leather. It shows in these brown ankle boots, leather lining, slightly square toe, and elastic “gussets” on both sides for ease of insertion and removal. These are $265 boots on sale for $129.

.

.
Speaking of suffering for fashion, any amount of suffering is worth these Velvet Angels “Asssassin” double buckle flat boot.  I’m talking black patent leather, I’m talking knee high, I’m talking half off – retailing at $400 (the designer used to design for Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. line), on sale for $200 smackeroos.

You’d normally expect to pay $200 for a great pair of boots, so why not get a better pair? Amirite?

Oh, these boots are from Revolve Clothing, which I found via If the Shoe Fits, which is a very cool blog you should all go check out. As soon as you’ve read this post and commented on it. (What?)

.

.

.
Finally, I have a long distance dedication to reader Thette, who specifically requested a bold printed dress for a curvy woman.  I was hoping to find something a little more distinctly Pucci-esque, but what I did find is this adorable tile print silk shift going up to a size 20 at Talbots.

Distressingly, their “women’s” line (12w-24w) sells no dresses at all at least online. That’s just…completely baffling to me. But this is a lime green summer dress that I’d love to see on a larger woman – however it is going to look best on women who are less curvy, particularly less busty. If you’ve got an hourglass thing going on this straight shift is just going to hide your bootylicious figure. Oh, and it’s silk with a back zip, and also comes in petite!

The absolute best part is that this dress was originally $159, it’s now $74.99 and you get a second sale item at 50% off!  (Say this cotton lawn split neck tunic? It could be yours for $15.00!)

.

Whew! I don’t know about you dear p0rn lovers, but I’m spent! I hope this post gives you something to wear, or at least something to dream about.

As always – it was good for me; tell me, was it good for you?
